5. 3-ring binder
6. 2 - spiral notebooks
7. 2 red pencils
8. Individual Pencil Sharpener
9. Students last name A-H bring a set of addition flashcards
   Students last name I-Z bring a set of subtraction flashcards
10. Students last name A-H bring a box of gallon size storage bags.
    Students last name I-Z bring a box of sandwich size storage bags.
4. Bring all supplies marked with your name.
5. Email Mrs. Hebel with your name as the subject.
6. Bring a snack and water daily.

Welcome to Second Grade!

Dear Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. J. Hebel, and I will be your child’s second grade teacher this year. I graduated from Central Michigan University in 2006 with a major in Integrated Science and a minor in Language Arts. I also received a masters degree from Saginaw Valley State University. This is my fourth year teaching second grade. I have taught second, third, fourth, library science, and middle school. Below is a list of a few reminders.

On a more personal note, I have lived in Richmond, MI my entire life.  I am happily married with a daughter and a son.

**Please print your child’s name in EVERYTHING; sweaters, coats, boots, gloves, hats, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc…

**Please send your child to school with a backpack everyday. He/she will be bringing home many important notes, as well as homework.

**We will be having a healthy snack (fruit, vegetable, crackers, pretzels, etc) each day. Please send in a healthy snack, as well as a water. 

**Your child will have homework and tests.  Monday and Thursday will be ELA homework.  Tuesday and Wednesday will be Math homework. 

Please feel free to contact me anytime with any questions or concerns. I do check my school e-mail several times during the day. 

I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year. Second grade is an awesome year, and I am sure that your child will enjoy it!!!
